Little and Junior Shark Triathlon Team
Mission:
Little Sharks is St. Louis’s only youth triathlon team — a fun, supportive program that teaches kids to swim, bike, and run with confidence. Our season runs mid-April through mid-August, with two practices or events each week, including technique sessions, skills days, and local races. Whether a kid is brand-new to the sport or already competitive, we build fitness, confidence, and teamwork in a positive, high-energy environment. It’s the most well-rounded, empowering sport a young athlete can do — and we make it fun.
Basics:
Team practices and clinics are supported by Libby Fennewald, USA Triathlon Youth & Junior Coach, Big Shark Bicycle Company, Nutriformance/Athletic Republic, and Power Up Cycling. The 2026 season runs from mid-April through mid-August, with practices typically on Thursday evening and Saturday morning.

Team:
Youth & juniors ages 9-15, in good health with no medical conditions, or cleared by a licensed physician.
Athlete target distances to ensure team success:
- Youth – Swim freestyle 100 yards without stopping, ride bike 7 miles, and run/walk 1 mile.
- Juniors – Swim freestyle 200 yards without stopping, ride 12 miles and run 2 miles
